Why was Kujo Started?

When I was younger, I worked alongside my dad in our family construction business – building homes, remodeling, landscaping, and whatever else needed to get done. I always wore my sneakers to work (to my dad's disapproval)... I just didn't like wearing heavy work boots.

I realized that there was a real need for light and comfortable work gear, tough enough to work outside (Lawn Care, Landscaping, Maintenance). With my sister, Kelsey, and her husband Craig, we launched Kujo Yardwear in 2018.

Why the Name "Kujo"?

"Kujo" was the nickname of David, my cousin. Growing up, "Kujo" and I were best buddies, always outside playing.

David "Kujo" continued his outdoor passion into his 20's, building community gardens in Detroit, and urging his neighbors to get outside together. I named our company "Kujo" in honor of my late cousin, to pass along the message to get outside!

Kujo Yardwear is still proudly a family-owned business. We're based in Raleigh, NC and our warehouse is in Toledo, OH.
